Margaret Z. Roan, 76 of Gainesville died Saturday September 6, 2014 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Born in Dekalb County, Atlanta, Ga. Ms. Roan was the daughter of the late Augustus Morrow and Margaret Josephine Zattau Roan. She was a resident of Hall County for many years and was a graduate of Brenau University. She had worked for Bonanza Steak House and Gress Foods for many years and also taught piano along with her mother. Ms. Roan was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville which she loved very much and was considered and "Ambassador" of the church.
Survivors include her nieces, Ansley Roan of New York City and Caroline Roan and her husband, Dr. Arang Abassi and their two sons Alec and Justin of Manhasset, New York. She is also survived by her many friends at First Presbyterian Church and Smoky Springs Retirement Residence.
Ms. Roan is preceded in death by her parents, and brother and sister-in-law, Charles T. and Tattie May Williams Roan.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday September 12, 2013 at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta, Ga. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday September 13, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville. Rev. Shon Peppers will officiate. There will be a reception held after the memorial service at the church.
