Donnie Lee Lyle

Lt. Donnie Lee Lyle, age 62, of Gainesville, passed away Friday, September 5, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, September 8, 2014 at 12:00 noon in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Cary Pittman will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 6, 2014 and Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 6 - 9 pm at the funeral home.

Lt. Lyle was born August 30, 1952 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Hoyt Lyle and Lucille Bates Lyle. Lt. Lyle worked Security at Gainesville Textile Mill and graduated from Northeast Georgia Police Academy. He was a retired Lieutenant from the Gainesville Police Department with 25 years of service and was a member of White Plains Baptist Church. Donnie was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Virginia Hagood.

Lt. Lyle is survived by his wife of 33 years, Brenda Lyle of Gainesville, his daughters & sons-in-law, Crystal & Jim Harper of Cleveland and Amber & Vant Swain of Clermont, his son & daughter-in-law, Keith & Andrea Lyle of Suwanee, grandchildren, Alexis Lyle, Addison Harper, Camden Lyle and Mason Lee Swain and sister, Pat Setzer of Cornelia. He is also survived by an extended family.
