Marvin Donald David

Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, announces services for Marvin Donald David, age 76, of Commerce who passed away on Wednesday September 3rd, 2014. Mr. David was the son of the late James and Willie Mae Abernathy David. Survivors include his wife, Betty Whitsel David of the home; daughter, Jackie Baird of Gainesville; brothers, Robert David of Canton, Jerry David of Guntersville, AL, Walter David of Homer, and Dewitt David of Commerce; sisters, Lois Williams of Commerce and Louise Harden of Guntersville, AL; grandchildren, Cecil Baird, Christy McKnight and Shane Cobb; and five great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Tony Marcus Cobb, and brothers, Bill David, Marshall David, and Howard David.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday September 5th, 2014 from 6 PM until 8 PM. Services will be held on Saturday September 6th, 2014 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Interment will follow at Jackson Memorial Gardens.
