Betty Dean McCrary McKenzie

Betty Dean McCrary McKenzie, age 73 of Gainesville, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at her residence following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, September 6, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend John Kinsey will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 5, 2014 from 1 - 3 pm and 5 - 7 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. McKenzie was born January 7, 1941 in Sylvester, Georgia to the late Fred Cecil McCrary and Eula Jones McCrary. She was retired from Sun Trust Bank and was a member of Harmony Hall Baptist Church. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles L. McKenzie and her granddaughter, Elizabeth Dean McKenzie.

Mrs. McKenzie is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Jeff & Renee McKenzie of Toccoa, Georgia, her daughter & son-in-law, Jennie & Philip Nelson of Gainesville, granddaughter & husband, Stashia & Jake Cheek of Clarkesville, grandson & wife, Zach & Caitlin McKenzie of Toccoa, Georgia, granddaughter, Maggie Nelson of Gainesville, grandsons, Matthew Nelson of Gainesville and Austin McKenzie of Toccoa, Georgia, great-grandsons, Jacob Cheek and Joel Cheek, great-granddaughter, Elise McKenzie and brother & sister-in-law, Ray & Peggy McCrary of Sylvester, Georgia.
