William Vernon Allison

Wm. Vernon Allison, 80, of Gainesville, GA passed away on Tuesday September 2, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born on July 29, 1934, Mr. Allison was a lifelong resident of Hall County. He was the son of the late William Herschel and Maggie Brice Allison. Mr. Allison worked for Pepsi for 11 years and also worked for Coca Cola for 22 years before he retired. Mr. Allison was a member of Sardis Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Gerald David "Fuzzy" Allison.

Mr. Allison is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Hughes Allison of Gainesville; daughter and son in law, Angie and Tom Hiers; son, Michael Vernon Allison; grandchildren, Kevin Michael Allison, Dustin Vernon Allison, Wendi Allison, Hannah Allison, Tyler Hiers; great grandchildren, Gage Allison, Mason Allison, William Allison and Camdin Crawford all of Gainesville; sister, Betty Oliver of Clermont; sister and brother in law, Mary and Bobby Benefield of Chestnut Mountain; brothers and sisters in law, Larry and Brenda Allison of Gainesville, Donald and Judy Allison of Cumming, Phillip and Kathy Allison of Murrayville; special friends to the family, Lynn Gilleland and Mandy Brown as well as several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2014 at Sardis Baptist Church. Pastor Stan Peck and Rev. James Kanaday will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
