Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Helen E. Carter, 81, of Jefferson, Georgia, who entered into rest on Monday, September 1, 2014.
Mrs. Carter was born in Jackson County Georgia, a daughter of the late Vadie and Tishie Hawks Burroughs. Mrs. Carter retired from First National Bank in Jefferson after many years of service and was a long time member of Bethany United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, Talmadge D. Carter, brother, Herman Burroughs, sister, Peggy Wilson and son in law Rob Joyce.
Survivors include her children, K. C. (Kimberly) Carter, Townville, South Carolina, Marsha (Benny) Maynard, West Minster, South Carolina, Diane (Mike) Kent Gainesville, Georgia and Cathy Joyce, Nicholson, Georgia, sisters, Francis Parker, Commerce, Georgia, Jean Sweeter, Athens, Georgia, and Becky Hix, Athens, Georgia 8 Grand Children and 18 Great Grandchildren and a number of other relatives.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday September 3, 2014 at 11:00AM at Bethany United Methodist Church with Minister Tom Plank and Reverend Johnny Ray officiating. Interment will follow in Jackson Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday September 2, 2014 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at Evans Funeral Home.
