Guy Larry Palmer

Guy Larry Palmer, age 94 of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Palmer was born April 12, 1920 in Cleveland to the late Marlin and Jessie Freeman Palmer. He was a member of Mt. Yonah Baptist Church and was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II. Mr. Palmer was preceded in death by his son Terry Palmer, sisters Blanche Thurmond, Lucille Turner and brother Lee Palmer.

Survivors include his wife, Polly Palmer, Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Erinn, Cleveland; daughter and son-in-law, Connie Palmer Bailey and Kenneth Bailey, Watkinsville; grandchildren and spouses, Jason and Annette Bailey; Eric and Leigh Bailey; Patrick and Heather Bailey, Kendra Bailey Lyon and Steven Lyon; great grandchildren, Kayla Bailey, Cord Bailey, Emma Bailey, Rachel Bailey, Evie Bailey, Anna Bailey, Parker Lyon; great-great grandchildren, Charity Dean, Camron Dean; brother, Ross Palmer, Cleveland; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Monday, September 1, 2014 at Mt. Yonah Baptist Church. The Rev. Doug Merck will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
