Mildred Hilley Hardman

Mrs. Mildred Hilley Hardman, age 93, of 4100 Williams Bridge Road, Toccoa, GA, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the Stephens County Hospital.

A daughter of the late Inman and Eva Lou Cobb Hilley, she was born June 21, 1921 in Franklin County where she lived all her life. She worked in retail sales for a number of years. She was a member of Sunshine United Methodist Church, and served as UMW President, Sunday School Teacher, Official Board Member and enjoyed activities at the Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her husband E.H. "Hut" Hardman who passed away in 1997, and by a brother, John B. Hilley, and by 3 sisters, Betty Jenkins, Sara Hicks, Mary Seymour, a son-in-law, Fred Canup, and by two granddaughters, Sara Lynn Barrett and Stacey Hardman.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Agatha Barrett of Toccoa, Brenda and Billy Adams of Westminster, SC, and Dean Canup of Commerce, GA,1 son, Eddy and Cathy Hardman of Toccoa, 1 sister, Demie Rumsey of Buford, GA, 6 grandchildren and spouses, Brandon & Kandy Hardman, Joseph Adams, Mike & Cynthia Barrett, Mark & Kathy Ann Barrett, Terry & Pam Canup, and Kenneth & Holly Canup, 18 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 3 PM Monday, August 25, 2014 at Sunshine United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ryan Seawright, the Reverend Kenneth Deetle, and the Reverend Dr. Bill Hyndman officiating. The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 until 8 PM.
