Polly Bailey Payne

Mrs. Polly Bailey Payne, age 93, of 8020 Hwy 320, Toccoa, GA, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014 at her residence. A daughter of the late Cooper and Bertha Perkins Bailey, she was born August 15, 1921 in Franklin County where she lived most of her life. She operated a beauty salon in her home for many years and later retired from Franklin County School System. She was a member on New Hope and attended Sunshine United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the WMU, Sunday School Superintendent and, she served on various committees. She served as Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star and was preceded in death by her husband Harold Payne who died in 1964 and by a son Frankie Payne who died in 2011.



Survivors include 2 daughters and their husbands, Brenda & Kenneth Addison, Carol & Greg Bennett all of Toccoa, 2 sons and their wives, Johnny & Barbara Payne, Butch & Deborah Payne, daughter-in-law Linda Payne all of Toccoa, 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and 4 sisters, Sara Edmonds, Drucilla Collier both of Toccoa, Edna Waters of Arabi, GA and Susie Lancaster of Augusta, GA, 2 sisters-in-law, Jean Bailey of Toccoa, Rosalee Bailey of Oakway, SC and a number of nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, August 24, 2014, at Sunshine United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dr. Bill Hyndman officiating. The family will be at the home on Hwy 320, Toccoa, GA and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
