Michael D. Brown, age 53, of Buford, GA and the Ivy Creek Community passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gladston G. and Bonnie Mauldin Brown and Cloyde and Myrtle E. Patterson Cole. He is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Lisa Hughes Brown, Buford, GA; children, William Gaines Brown, Buford, GA and Bonnie Kathryn Brown, Buford, GA; parents, Larry and Mary C. Brown, Buford, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Daniel G. and Cynthia Brown, Beach Grove, TN; nephews, Phillip Andrew Brown, Christopher N. Brown and Michael Zachary Brown; niece, Mary Rebecca Brown; nephew, Roger Cody Cann; niece, Lauren Marie Johnson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William Neil and Barbara Jones Hughes, Murphy, NC; and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Linda and Martin Cann, Abbeville, SC. Mr. Brown was born October 18, 1960 in Atlanta, GA. He was a 1978 graduate of North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee, GA and a 1983 graduate of Southern Polytechnic State University where he received his bachelor's degree. He was co-owner of Geo Lab Probing Services in Winder, GA. He was a member of IEEE, a member of National Ground Water Association, and a member of Glory City Church in Suwanee, GA. He was a State Representative Elect for District 98. "He was a car enthusiast." A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2014 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Dr. Ron Harvard officiating. Interment will follow in Ivy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Gwinnett County Unit, 6500 Sugarloaf Parkway, Suite 260, Duluth, GA 30097 or to Eagle Ranch, P.O.
