Tom Haas, Sr

Tom Haas, Sr., age 70, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Monday, August 18, 2014.

Tom was the son of the late Joseph and Sophia Haas. He was born and raised in Rockaway Beach, Queens, NY, enjoyed the time he spent in Islamoraola, Florida Keys, and retired with his loving wife of 24 years in Lumpkin County. He was a structural steel erector for Local 361, and erected various structures, and was proud to be a part of erecting the World Trade Center. Tom was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.

He is survived by his wife, Ginger Glasser Haas, sons and daughters-in-law, Tom Jr. and Dannette Haas, Port Charlotte, FL, Anthony Haas, Dahlonega, GA, Robert and Cindy Haas, Dahlonega, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Loriann and Steve Kaake, Amarillo, TX; son and daughter-in-law, John and Laurie Duggan, Toledo, OH; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and David Gold, Brooklyn, NY; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara Nowak, Betty and Ira Goldberg, Carol and Ernie Ponzini, Brenda Haas, all of Florida; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Brad and Barbara Glasser, Long Island, NY; cousin, Billy and Janet Haas, Staten Island, NY; 14 grandchildren and a number of other relatives also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Tom at 4 PM Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.
