Loumis Grady 'Bill' Ash

Loumis Grady "Bill" Ash, age 86 of Gainesville, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Reverend Earl Pirkle and Chaplain Maitland LaForce officiating. Interment will follow in Air Line Baptist Church Cemetery. There will be a Masonic Graveside Service. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 and Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 1:00-3:00pm and 5:00-7:00pm both nights at the funeral home.

Mr. Ash was born February 4, 1928 in Gillsville, Georgia to the late Coleman James and Nellie Norris Ash. He was retired from General Motors and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Ash served his country in the United States Army and was also a Mason of the Stone Lodge No. 715. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Tula Ash; daughter, Sheila Ash Hulsey; his sisters, Zola Mae Miller, Lois Marlowe, Pauline Miller; brothers, Hubert Ash and Hoyt Ash.

Mr. Ash is survived by his grandsons, John Hulsey and Jamie Hulsey both of Gainesville; brother, Lloyd Ash of Gainesville.
