John Mathious Mize, Sr.,

Mr. John Mathious Mize, Sr., age 81 of 2345 Prather Bridge Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014 at the Oaks at Scenic View in Baldwin, Georgia.

A son of the late Ronzie and Katie Lou Fulbright Mize, he was born November 13, 1932 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived all his life. He was employed with Cash and Thomas for a number of years and later with Dunson Paving Company. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Will Norris and Floyd Nix.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Faye Norris Mize; six daughters and sons-in-law, Jaime and Stacy Justice, Libby Nix, Marthaleen Mize, Elaine Welch and Tracy Johnson all of Toccoa, Georgia and Jackie Bennett of Westminster, South Carolina; three sons, John Mathious Mize, Jr. and Johnny Raymond Mize both of Toccoa, Georgia and Winston Norris of Westminster, South Carolina; seventeen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; four sisters and brother-in-law, Sue and James Spencer, Linda Burden, Olivia Massey and Renzilene and Dobie Simmons of all of Toccoa, Georgia.

Memorial service will be held at a later date.
