Nadean Kanaday Martin

Mrs. Nadean Kanaday Martin, age 88, of Gainesville, Ga. slipped away peacefully to join her heavenly family on Friday, August 15, 2014.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at the Chestatee Baptist Church. Rev. David Skinner, Rev. Cecil Reeves and Rev. Billy Poole will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9. Flowers will be accepted but those desiring to give a memorial contribution may do so to the Chestatee Baptist Church Building fund.

Mrs. Martin was born in Gainesville, Ga. on April 29, 1926 to the late Leonard Jack and Mary Kanaday. She was a loving, caring and faithful member of the Chestatee Baptist Church, serving as a deacon's wife. She was a past Noble Grand of Faith Lodge #45, of the Rebecca Assembly. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband - Glenn Hammond "G.H." Martin, a son - Gene Martin, a granddaughter - Karen Panico, a grandson - Toby Harold Martin and In laws - Howard and Morine Martin. She was a beloved mother of 4 children, and Maw Maw to a large host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and a loving church family.

Survivors include: Son and Daughter in law - Benny Harold and Ann Martin of Watertown, WS, Daughter and Son in law - Anna and Joe Twiggs of Gainesville, Son and daughter in law - Nick Daniel and Mae Martin of Gainesville and Daughter in law - Patsy Kelly Martin of Rabun Gap. Grandsons and wives - Tim and Niccol Martin, Chuck and Sherry Twiggs, Scott and Michelle Twiggs, Glenn and Jennifer Martin, Johnny and Monique Kelly and Dennis and Glenda Kelly. Granddaughters and husbands, Teresa Martin, Tina Martin, Blythe and Brandon Millwood, Bethany and Tony Howard, Julie and Hasley Gipson, Lynn and Bill Wise and Kevin Panico. 22 Great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family also survive.
