Linda Carolyn Carpenter

Linda Carolyn Carpenter, age 67, of Lula, Georgia went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family following an extended illness.

Born on June 27, 1947, in Banks County, she was a daughter of the late Howard Murray and Jean Garrison Murray. Mrs. Carpenter was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and was a retired personnel manager with Pittman Dental Lab. She enjoyed cooking, church, gardening especially working in her flower gardens.

Survivors include husband of 49 years, William U. Carpenter of Lula; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Carrie Carpenter of Lula; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Bradley Ledford of Lula; grandchildren, Will and Wes Ledford of Lula and Kailey and Justin Holloway of Flowery Branch; sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn and Artis Haynes of Lula; mother-in-law, Bobbie Carpenter of Lula; brother-in-law and spouse, Daniel and Donna Carpenter of Lula; sisters-in-law and spouses, Wayne and Wilda Holcomb of Baldwin and Mike and Carol Crawford of Alto; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Fire Baptized Holiness Church Cemetery with Rev. Brian Hall officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11, 2014.
