Barbara Ann Gooch, age 67, of Augusta, GA, formerly of Buford, GA, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2014. She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Gooch, and mother, Louise Jones Gooch. She is survived by her sister, Jeannette and Vern Cruse, Buford, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth W. and Robbie Gooch, Buford, GA; nieces, Jennifer Gooch, Buford, GA, Melinda and Dennis Stancil, Grayson, GA, and Sharon Tice, Buford, GA; nephews, Steven and Denise Freeman, Marietta, GA, and Christopher Freeman, Buford, GA; great nieces, Natalie Stancil, Nicole Stancil, Jennie Freeman, Stephanie Freeman, and Maggie Shiller; great nephews, Chris Tice and Hunter Tice; aunts, Lucy and John Hutchins, and Shirley Jones Cowart; uncle, Edwin and Jannean Jones; and several cousins. Ms. Gooch was born August 30, 1946 in Buford, GA. She was a native of Buford, GA where she attended Harmony Elementary School and Friendship Baptist Church. She was a resident of Gracewood in Augusta, GA for fifty-three years as a result of severe medical problems and seizures. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, 5979 New Bethany Road, Buford, GA 30518 with Rev. Darryl Dale officiating. A memorial service will be held at Gracewood Chapel in Augusta, GA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friendship Community Baptist Church, Buford, GA in memory of Barbara Gooch.
