Dr. Stanley William Wallace passed away at his home August 3, 2014.
Born February 10, 1944 in Montgomery, Alabama, Dr. Wallace was the son of the late Dr. Stanley K. Wallace and Claire Maxwell Wallace. He was a beloved brother, father, grandfather and is survived by his sister Maryanna Wallace, son Kevin Stanley Wallace and spouse Susannah Wallace, son Braedan Gardner Wallace, daughter Rachelle Jennifer Wallace, and granddaughter Lillia Rose Claire Wallace.
Dr. Wallace graduated from Stetson University and was a 1970 graduate of the University of Florida. He was selected to serve an elite Cardiology Fellowship under the distinguished Dr. J.
Willis Hurst at Emory University. He was Board Certified In Internal Medicine and Cardiology. Following completion of his fellowship, Dr. Wallace was awarded the Senior Assistant Resident in Cardiology at Emory Hospital. Dr. Wallace had a private practice in Lilburn, Georgia for over thirty years. He also performed medical services for the U.S. government and had offices throughout the state where he treated patients. His medical career extended over 45 years. He was beloved by his patients for his gentle and compassionate demeanor.
Dr. Wallace was a Major in the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War. During which time he helped in establishment of a orphanage, where he volunteered, in Saigon. While in the Army, Dr. Wallace was awarded The Joint Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, A Bronze Service Star, and International Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation.
The funeral service will be held Thursday August 7th at 10:00 am at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. Father Frank Richardson will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5 until 8pm at the funeral home. The committal will be at 10:30 Friday August 8th at Georgia National Cemetery with military honors.
