Elizabeth Lee Smith Brand

Mrs. Elizabeth Lee Smith Brand, a devoted, loving and caring mother, wife and grandmother age 77, of Hoschton, Georgia passed away July 31, 2014.

A native of Atlanta, she was a daughter of the late Edmond Garnette and Julia Briscoe Smith. She was preceded by her husband, Ray Brand, Sr. on September 2, 2010.

Mrs. Brand was a member of the Winder First Baptist Church and was a retiree of Hall's Flower Shop of Stone Mountain. Elizabeth and her husband Ray were instrumental in founding the Atlanta Chapter of the Retinitis Pigmentosa Foundation in the early 1970s.

Surviving are Children, Rodney (Joni) Black of Flowery Branch, Gregory (Lane) Black of Braselton, Ray Brand, Jr. of Buford, Scarlett (Barry) Sutlive of Norcross, Elise (Jim) Bachmann of Flowery Branch and Carrie (Freeman) Poole of Jonesboro, Eighteen Grandchildren, Nine Great Grandchildren, Sister, Beverly (C. W.) Anderson of Snellville and Brother, Ronald Smith of Eaton.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 A. M., Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Winder First Baptist Church with Rev. Lester Hall and Rev. Irby Stanley officiating. The remains will be placed in state in the Church at 10:30 A. M. Monday. The Family will receive friends, Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 3-5 P. M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs. Flowers are welcomed or memorials may be made to the Winder First Baptist Church, 625 Jefferson Road, Winder, Georgia 30680. A reception and serving of a meal of thanksgiving will begin at 2:00 P. M. on August 4, 2014 at 5460 Amberfield Drive, Norcross, Georgia 30092.
