Donald Preston "Don" Vining Jr. age 51 of Buford, GA, died Friday, August 1, 2014 after an extended illness. Mr. Vining has been cremated and a celebration of life will be held Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 3:30 PM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Pastor Kevin Queen will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 1:30-3:30 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Vining is survived by his Wife, Sherri Vining, Buford. Children, Chad Vining, Cody Vining, and Cailey Vining, Buford. Mother and Father, Bobbie Jean Vining and Donald Preston Vining Sr., Fortson. Brother, Phil Vining and Wife Denise, Sharpsburg. Sister, Lindi Vining Dodds and Husband Jon, Columbus. Nephews, Chase Dodds and Cale Dodds, Nashville, TN. Nieces, Catherine Vining, Nashville and Caroline Vining, Atlanta. Step-daughters, Nicole Nichols Whitlow and Husband Johnathan, Marietta, Taylor Nichols Bailey and Husband Taylor, Flowery Branch. Step Granddaughter, Brylee Bailey, Flowery Branch. Mother In-law and Father In-law, Gladys and Leon Kimbro, Buford. Sister In-Law, Linda Chalacoff and Husband Gary, Sugar Hill. Best Friend, Duke, Buford. Don was born in Columbus, GA and had lived in the Atlanta area the past 30 years. He was a 1980 graduate of Hardaway High School, Columbus, and attended West GA College where he was a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He enjoyed coaching little league teams with his sons.
