William Taft Sargent, Jr.

Mr. William Taft Sargent, Jr. 65 of Gainesville died Friday July 25, 2014 at his residence.

A lifelong resident of Hall County, Mr. Sargent was the son of the late William Taft, Sr. and Lucille Miller Sargent. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church.

Survivors include his sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy and Dexter Stanley, Gainesville; Linda and Rev. Dwight Woodall, Gainesville; brother, Michael Sargent, Braselton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Danny and Carol Sargent, Lula; Paul and Sherry Sargent, Gainesville; 3 nieces and 4 nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday July 28, 2014 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Dwight Woodall will officiate. Interment will follow in Alta Vista Cemetery with full military honors. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.
