Lucilla Brown Bell, age 95, of Homer, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at her residence.
Mrs. Bell was born on December 17, 1918 in Banks County, Georgia; daughter to the late Noah Chapel and Priscilla Vaughn Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Olan Bell and daughter, JoAnn Bell Lally. Mrs. Bell was the first female school bus driver in Banks County. She worked at San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank for many years and was a board member of the Georgia Department of Human Resources having served 31 years. Mrs. Bell was a member of Tates Creek Baptist Church and also loved growing flowers.
Survivors include her son in law, Thomas Lally, Schodack, NY; grandson, Terence Lally, Homer; granddaughter and spouse, Rosemary Lally and Gregory Wilson, Lexington, SC; great-grandchildren, Sydney Rose Wilson and Thomas Gregory Wilson. Mrs. Bell was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., on Friday, July 18, 2014, at Tates Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating. Interment will follow in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin Georgia.
