Raymond Myron Reed

Mr. Raymond Myron Reed, age 85, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 at his residence following a sudden illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 pm Sunday, July 13, 2014 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel with interment to follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. Dr. Jerry Gill and Reverend Don Ormsbee will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday, July 12, 2014 at the funeral home.

Mr. Reed was born June 03, 1929 a lifetime resident of Hall County, Georgia, the son of the late W. Price Reed and Sarah (Scroggs) Reed. He was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church for the past 17 years. He was also a member of the Believers and Golden Nugget Sunday School Classes. He retired from Beers Construction Company in Atlanta following 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dwight A. Reed; brother, Wade Reed and a sister, Margaret McClure.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty (Moore) Reed; sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Debbie Reed; Douglas M. and Jan Reed and Terry and Barbara Reed all of Gainesville; grandchildren, Josh Reed, Kasey Carlisle, Justin Reed, Nathan Reed and Lew Reed; great-grandchildren, Calli Carlisle, Lauren Reed and Lindsey Reed; sisters, Mary Cochran, Kathleen Reed, Blanche Couch, Vivan Connor and Hazel Smith; special nephew, Scott Tankersly.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Roger Owens and his staff for their compassion and care.
