David Edward "Ed" Giddens

David Edward "Ed" Giddens, age 74, of Demorest, Georgia, passed away suddenly on Monday, July 7, 2014 at a local area hospital following an extended illness.




Mr. Giddens was born on September 25, 1939 in Waycross, Georgia; son of the late David Jeffers and Vada Mae McDonald Giddens. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Don Giddens. Mr. Giddens was an avid photographer, and was the owner and operator of Ed's Photography. He was a Veteran of the United States Army with two years of service and eight years of service with the United States Navy. Mr. Giddens was of the Christian Faith.




Survivors include his wife, Judy Giddens, Demorest; step-daughter, Robin Horne, Savannah; sons, Chris Giddens, Demorest, Jeb Giddens, Decatur; sister, Merle Jordan, Jacksonville, FL; brother, Obe Giddens, Millwood, GA; grandchildren, Summer Giddens, Cody Thompson, and Kevin Thompson.




Funeral services are scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Charles Peugh and Mr. Jeff Giddens officiating.




The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until 4:15 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2014.




In lieu of flowers, special memorials may be made to Mrs. Judy Giddens, 960 Hilton English Road; Demorest, Georgia 30535, to help with final expenses.
