James Edward Grizzle

Mr. James Edward Grizzle, age 72 of Dahlonega, GA passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at his home following an extended illness.

James was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and a member of Concord Baptist Church. He retired from UPS, and started a grading and hauling business, which he had a great love for. He was loved by his family very much.

He is preceded in death by his father, Fred Grizzle; late wives, Patricia Grizzle and Cora Grizzle; and brother, Jimmy Grizzle.

James is survived by his wife, Reba Rider Grizzle; mother, Cona Belle Head Grizzle; son and daughter-in-law, Lamar and Mandy Grizzle; step-children, Michael and Megan Seabolt; brother and sister-in-law, Dean and Frances Grizzle, all of Dahlonega, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Rev. Donald and Merle Grizzle, Clarkesville, GA; brother, David Grizzle and partner, Carol Smith, Thomson, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and J.L. Sutton, and Joyce and Bruce Sullens, all of Dahlonega, GA. Six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for James are scheduled for 2 PM Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Concord Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.

Rev. Donald Grizzle, Rev. Lyman Caldwell, and Rev. JR Fields will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Concord Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA from 2 PM until 9 PM on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, and again on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 9 AM until service time.
