Randall Morris 'Randy' Thompson

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Randall Morris "Randy" Thompson, 64, of Statham, Georgia who passed away on Friday, June 27, 2014.

Mr. Thompson was born in Athens, Georgia, a son of the late James Lamar and Johnnie Francis Lee Thompson. Mr. Thompson was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. After his military service, Mr. Thompson work in Public Service as a Police Officer where he was with the Clarke County Sheriff's office and retired from the Barrow County Sheriff's office as Chief Deputy and Major. Mr. Thompson was a member of the VFW.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his wife, Julie Thompson and son, James JR Thompson.

A memorial service will be held Sunday July 13, 2014 at 2:00P.M. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Rev. Robby Black officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday July 13 from 12:30 until the service.

Survivors include his sister Peggy Price, Americus, Georgia, brother, Johnny Lamar Thompson, Clinton, Mississippi, nephews, Christopher Thompson, James Taylor Price, nieces, Beverly Susan Thompson, Melissa Jean Scearce, and great nephew Jessie Scearce.
