Boyd Parr, Jr.,

Boyd Parr, Jr., age 80 of Gainesville, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, July 6, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 6, 2014 from 9 - 11 am, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

Mr. Parr was born February 13, 1934 in Commerce, Georgia to the late Boyd Parr, Sr. and Lucille Pendergrass Parr. He was retired from the U. S. Air Force and was a member of Free Chapel Worship Center. Boyd was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Gladys Kinley.

Mr. Parr is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary Nell Vaughn Parr of Gainesville, daughters & sons-in-law, Jennie & Greg Smith of Nicholson, Georgia and Barbara & Eddy Reed of Ila, Georgia, daughter, Tricia Parr of Commerce, son & daughter-in-law, Boyd Douglas & Mary Parr of Athens, daughters, Sandra Mullins of Flowery Branch, Kay Phillips of Pendergrass, Susan Wilson of Flowery Branch and Mycki Little of Gainesville, son, Ken Phillips of Gainesville, sister, Elaine Beauchamp of Commerce, sister & brother-in-law, Betty & Bill Shirley of Commerce, 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
