Amelia Lucille Murphy

Amelia Lucille Murphy, age 89, of Gainesville, passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Talmo Baptist Church Cemetery. Reverend Brian Malcom, Reverend Ronnie Wales and Dr. Mark Spence will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 28, 2014 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Murphy was born July 5, 1924 in Braselton, Georgia to the late Herschel Davis and Carrie Deaton Davis. She was retired from Deep South Products and was a member of Talmo Baptist Church. Amelia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbert C. Murphy, brothers and sisters and her great-grandchild, Adrian Murphy.

Mrs. Murphy is survived by her children, Frank Murphy of Pendergrass, Bobby (Ann) Murphy of Talmo, Martha Owen of Gainesville, Mary (Garry L.) Kesler of Gainesville and Tricia (Al) Atkins of Flowery Branch, 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 15 great-great-grandchildren, one brother, Ray Davis of Braselton and her very special friend, Dola Thomas of Gainesville.
