Evelyn Franklin Thomason

Funeral services for Evelyn Franklin Thomason, age 80, of Mount Airy, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 21, 2014 from the Antioch Baptist Church. Rev. Kenneth Franklin and Rev. Chris York will officiate with interment to follow the service in Hillside Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 2-4 PM and from 6-8 PM.

Mrs. Thomason died Tuesday, June 17, 2014 following a recent decline in health.

Born in Habersham County on January 8, 1934, Mrs. Thomason was the daughter of the late Arlin and Cleo Jameson Franklin. Mrs. Thomason was an active member of Antioch Baptist Church where she was in the ladies adult Sunday school class. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thomason is preceded in death by father in law and mother in law Omer and Ruth Thomason, brothers in law Bill Glore and Lee Sellers.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years Howard Thomason of Mt. Airy, daughter and son in law Janet and Larry Parham of Mt. Airy, son and daughter in law Jerry and Teresa Thomason of Mt. Airy, brothers and sisters in law Rev. Kenneth and Marilyn Franklin of Cleveland, Douglas H. and Jimmie Sue Franklin of Clarkesville, and Johnny and Karen Franklin of Mt. Airy, brother Earnest Franklin of Demorest, sister and brother in law Maxine and Ray Rice Cornelia, sisters Joyce Glore and Dorothy Sellers of Cornelia, brothers in law and sisters in law Melvin and Marybelle Thomason and Bill and Maxine Thomason all of Carnesville, grandchildren Julia Thomason Braswell (James) of Clarkesville, Andrea Thomason of Mt. Airy, Brittany Parham of Mt. Airy, great grandchildren Chloe and Colton Braswell of Clarkesville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
