Mary Felton Allen Roberts

Funeral services for Mary Felton Allen Roberts, age 89, of Clarkesville will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM from Hillside Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Yonah Memorial Gardens and the family will receive friends prior to the service on Thursday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

Mrs. Roberts passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at her residence following a recent decline in health.

Born in Akron, Ohio on May 25, 1925, Mrs. Roberts was the daughter of the late Oliver G. Allen and Maggie Wood Allen. As a very young child, Mrs. Roberts and her family relocated to Habersham County. Mrs. Roberts was a lifetime member of Clarkesville Baptist Church where she shared her craftsmanship with generosity and love.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Roberts is preceded in death by her husband Haughey James Roberts; brothers Howard, Jack, Grady, and Aubrey Allen and sister Patricia Stewart.

Survivors include daughter and son in law Dianne and Harry Barrett of Clarkesville; son and daughter in law J. Mike and Shirley Roberts of Mt. Airy; sister and brother in law Louise and Harold Allen of Clarkesville, sister and brother in law Betty and Donald Davis of Dahlonega; sister in law Marlene Allen of Clarkesville and Barbara Allen of Many, Louisiana; many grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as a large number of nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all who helped to care for Mrs. Roberts and provide companionship during her recent illness, including the staff of Halcyon Hospice.
