Boyd M. Ramey

Obituary Date: Monday, June 16, 2014
Funeral services for Boyd M. Ramey, age 92, of Clarkesville will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 20, 2014 from the Hillside Memorial Chapel. Rev. Bill Trotter will officiate with interment to follow the service in Harvest Christian Church Cemetery.

Mr. Ramey died Monday, June 16, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness.

Born in Rabun County on March 31, 1922, Mr. Ramey was the son of the late Grady and Finnie Shook Ramey. He worked for the Civilian Conservation Corps and he was an entrepreneur. Mr. Ramey was a member of West Union Baptist Church in Young Harris and he was an avid fisherman. In addition to his parents Mr. Ramey is preceded in death by his wife Pauline Nichols Ramey, brothers Robert Ramey and Johnny Ramey and sisters Lola Corn and Minnie Owenby.

Survivors include daughter Oleta Nations of Clarkesville, sons and daughters in law David and Nell Ramey of Clarkesville, Clyde and Mildred Ramey of Clarkesville, Donald and Annette Ramey of Mt. Airy and Randy and Tina Ramey of Demorest, grandchildren James Nations (Maggie) of Sautee, Jimmy Nations of Clarkesville, Ramonia Allison (Ed) of Clarkesville, Tommy Ramey (Julie) of Clarkesville, Loretta Bisted (Daniel) of Demorest, Laura McCallister of Clarkesville, Kathy Smith (Corey) of Clarkesville, Adam Ramey (Jade) of Cornelia and Tianna and Tabitha Ramey of Demorest, great grandchildren Gracie and Colby Nations of Sautee, Emily and Jacob Ramey of Clarkesville, Abby and Kara McCallister of Clarkesville, and Landon Ramey of Cornelia, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, June 19, 2014 from 2-4 PM and from 6-8 PM.
