Mrs. Wanda Lene Scott, 87 of Gainesville (formerly of Dalton) passed away peacefully surrounded by her immediate family and close friend, Betty Beck on Tuesday, June 17th at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, following a brief illness.
Born in Springplace, Georgia, Mrs. Scott was the daughter of the late Mark and Ramma Ballew of Dalton. She was a former resident of Dalton, Georgia until 1999 when she moved to Gainesville to be close to her daughter and family.
Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by her husband and best friend of 32 years, William Thomas Scott.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Neal Anthony, and grandsons William and Grayson Anthony of Gainesville, who were the joy of her life. Sisters-in-laws Carolyn Butler of Port Wentworth, Georgia, Wanda (Ran) Hudson of Riceville, Tennessee, and brothers-in-laws Richard (Margie) Scott and David (Millie) Scott of Dalton, and a number of cousins, nieces, and nephews also survived. Mrs. Scott was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Herman (Catherine) Scott of Greenville, South Carolina.
Mrs. Scott was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church, faithfully serving in their Outreach Ministry where she began a card ministry.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 19th at the Chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam Parsons officiating. The family will welcome guests at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Whitfield Memorial Gardens in Dalton, Georgia at 4:00 p.m. on the day of the funeral.
