GARY JAMES POLLARD, age 45, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014.
Mr. Pollard was born on March 25, 1969 in Clayton, Georgia; son of the late James and Katherine Davenport Pollard. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth Echols, Stanley Echols, Hoyt Pollard and Tom Pollard. Mr. Pollard was employed with Habersham County EMS as an EMT with 14 years of service; he also served as the Assistant Fire Chief with the City of Baldwin and Fire Chief with Banks County Fire Department.
Survivors include his loving wife of 10 years, Stacy Trapp Pollard, Alto; daughters and sons-in-law, Ashley and Kevin Masters, Alto, Cassie and Jordan Fincher, Cleveland; daughter, Mariah Jacobs, Alto; sisters, Nell Hobgood, Sandy Springs, Delores Crane, Clayton, Nina Long, Social Circle, Vicki Harmon, Toccoa; brothers, Rick Echols, Cornelia, Ricky Pollard, Waynesville, NC, Terry Pollard, Virginia, James Cresley Pollard, Clayton; grandsons, Ayden Masters and Abraham Fincher.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Level Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Andy Wallace, Rev. Milton Harris, Jack Moody, Jim Wood and Rev. Kenneth McEntire officiating. Interment will follow in Level Grove Cemetery. Full Honors provided by the Fire Services.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia.
