Roy Alonzo Norton

Mr. Roy Alonzo Norton, age 77 of 692 Davis Avenue, Toccoa, GA passed away Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Athens Regional Medical Center.

A son of the late Jim and Sue Slaton Norton, he was born August 7, 1936 in Stephens County where he lived most of his life. He served in the Georgia National Guard for a number of years, was a retired truck driver and a member of The Pointe. He was preceded in death by a daughter Rita Norton.

Survivors include his wife of the home Jean Adams Norton; two daughters, Rhonda Norton of Toccoa, Georgia and Paula Massey of Cleveland, Georgia; four sons, Randall A. Norton, Ronnie E. Norton, Roger Norton and Ryan Norton all of Toccoa, Georgia; fourteen grandchildren; sister, Frances Lanier of Decatur, Georgia.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 10, 2 O'clock PM from the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Dr. Earl Fowlkes officiating. The following will serve as pallbearers, Flip Lanier, Larry Dysceker, Roger Norton, Kyle Cheek, John Michael Spencer and Craig Cheek.
The family will be at the home on Davis Avenue and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Monday from 6 PM to 8 P.M.

Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Roy Alonzo Norton.
