J D Holloway

J D Holloway, age 75, of Dahlonega, GA died Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.

JD was a Union County, GA native who had lived in Lumpkin County since 1975.

He was retired from the Fieldale Corporation and was of the Baptist faith.

J D was the son of the late Joe Gordon Holloway and Louisa Elizabeth Self Holloway and was also preceded in death by sisters, Mary Elizabeth Harkness, Lassie Petty, and Mae Jarrard; brothers, Randy R. Holloway, John Holloway, Howard Holloway, Samuel Holloway, and Jim Holloway; and daughter-in-law, Donna Holloway.

J D is survived by his son Richard Darren "Ricky" Holloway, Kannapolis, NC; brother, D L Holloway, Kannapolis, NC; grandson, Darren Allen Holloway; special niece, Wanda Anderson, Cleveland, GA; special friend and caregiver, Eleanor Powell. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for J D are scheduled for 1 PM Monday, June 9, 2014 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Interment will follow in the Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Suches, GA.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Sunday June 8, 2014 from 6PM until 9 PM and again on Monday, June 9, 2014 until time of the service.
