Louie Campbell Van Valkenburgh

Louise Campbell Van Valkenburgh went home to Jesus on Tuesday, June 3 as a result of two major strokes. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. Louise had been married almost 56 years to her devoted husband Cap and they had led a very varied and interesting life traveling much of the world as well as residing from coast to coast until settling down in Georgia in 1973.



Louise was born in Butler, Oklahoma on September 20, 1937 to James Leroy Campbell and Mayre Moore Campbell. She has one sister, Jane Downing, living in Creede, Colorado.




Louise leaves behind her husband, W.A. (Cap) Van Valkenburgh, Jr.; 5 children and spouses, Mayre and Bill Favaloro of Athens, Linda and Jeff Becklund of Acworth, Jim and Nicky Van Valkenburgh of Greenville, SC, Barbara and Rob Mason of Gainesville, David and Susan Van Valkenburgh of Buford; 8 grandchildren, Robbie and Albert Castle, Sean and Perry Van Valkenburgh, Abby Mason, Jake, Josh and Matt Van Valkenburgh; great grandchildren, Kylie and Lily Grace Castle.





Louise was deeply loved by so many people and will be sorely missed. She was a member of the Friendship Sunday School Class at Gainesville First United Methodist Church, very active in the PEO Sisterhood, much involved with United Methodist Women, and a member of the Red Hat Society.



Louise was a speech pathologist for 12 years in the Forsyth Co. school system.







Visitation with the family will be at Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Saturday, June 7, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A Memorial service will be held at Gainesville First United Methodist Church on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.







In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Gainesville First United Methodist Church or to your favorite charity.
