Jennifer Schaap Kempker

Obituary Date: Monday, June 2, 2014



Jennifer Schaap Kempker, age 61, died at home on June 2, 2014. Memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Friday June 6, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Gainesville. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Little & Davenport Funeral Home.



Jennifer was born in Holland, Michigan on September 29, 1952 to the parents of Jane and Jay Schaap. She attended school in Gainesville, Georgia until she moved to Holland, Michigan in 1968. She then attended and graduated from Holland High School and went on to study at Muskegon College. She married Frederick Kempker (Fritz) on June 9, 1972. Jennifer returned to Gainesville, Georgia with Fritz in 1979.



She was active in several volunteer organizations, one being NEGMC. She was also active in First Presbyterian Church as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, chairman of her circle, chairman of the flower guild and vacation bible school volunteer. She was active in the Royal Lakes Lady League for over 10 years. Fritz and Jennifer joined First Baptist Church of Gainesville in 2010. Her love was her family, friends, travel and golf.



She is survived by her loving husband, Fritz Kempker; her son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Natalie Kempker; son and daughter-in-law, Tyler and Nicole Kempker and five grandchildren whom she adored; Lily, Olivia, Jack, Emmerson and Annaclaire Kempker.
