Scott Helton

Obituary Date: Sunday, June 1, 2014
Scott chose an eternal life on June 1, 2014. He left family who adored him and more friends that anyone else will ever have. Gainesville, and Lake Lanier, were extremely happy places for him.

Though born in Toccoa November 27, 1965, he only returned to his home state eleven years ago. He spent his life through middle school in Durham, North Carolina, then in Hurst, Texas where he graduated from L.D. Bell High School. Scott was a kind, sensitive person who was eager to help everyone. He loved spending time on a boat, float or kayak on the lake, loved golf, loved the Dallas Cowboys and UGA football.

He will be remembered as a beautiful soul who saw the humor in life, loved and respected his mother more that anyone else in the world and would never want to hurt or be a burden to another person.

Survivors include his parents; Barbara and Bob Helton, Powder Springs, GA; aunt, Harriett Gaudino, Wythevile, VA; sister and brother-in-law, Kelly Helton Sanderson and Robert Sanderson, Smyrna, GA; niece, Sarah Sanderson, Smyrna, GA; cousins, Tom Helton, Pinceton, WVA; and Becky Carter, Lithia Springs, GA; girlfriend, Carrie Graue, Gainesville, GA.

Memorial services for Scott will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014 in the chapel of the Gainesville First United Methodist Church.
