Dillard Wavery Barron

Dillard Wavery Barron, 79, of Clayton, GA, passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Mountain Lakes Medical Center.
He was born August 10, 1934 in Habersham County and was the son of Wavery Barron and Lexie Kastner Barron.
In addition to his parents, Dillard was preceded in death by a brother, Payton Barron, and two sisters, Eulene Tatum and Susie Elrod. He is survived by his loving wife, Blondine Mitchell Barron of the home, two sons, Ernest (Ernie) Barron and his wife Anita of Tiger, GA, and Mitchell Barron of Clayton, GA; one brother, Odis Barron and his wife, Sandra of Batesville, GA; two sisters, Lucille Simerly of SC and Joan Kimsey and her husband, Lamon of Cleveland, GA. Also surviving is one granddaughter, Samanda Barron Dickerson and her husband, David. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Dillard worked for the US Forest Service as a law enforcement officer for many years and was made a Federal Marshal. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army 82nd Airborne Division and was a member of Rabun Gap Masonic Lodge 265. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and also attended Battle Branch Baptist Church. He was a very caring and loving husband and father.
The family will receive friends Friday, May 30, 2014 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Beck Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 31, 2014 with Pastor Madison McCrackin officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Batesville, GA
