Billy H. Farr, Sr.

Billy H. Farr, Sr., 69, of Gainesville passed away May 26, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center with his wife and family by his side.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday May 28, 2014 at 11 a.m. in chapel of Ward's Funeral Home with Rev. Marshall Dale officiating. Interment will follow in the Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Billy was a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church and attended Lebanon United Methodist Church regularly. He was the owner of Farr Electric for 40 years, before retiring in 2009, giving the business to his sons whom he loved dearly. He enjoyed hunting and fishing especially with his sons and grandsons.

Billy was preceded in death by his grandparents that raised him, Mae and John Goss; mother, Christine Crumley; father, Bill Farr and his Aunt Patsy Goss Young, whom he loved as a sister.

Survivors include his wife of 52 ½ years, Patricia "Chick" Farr; sons and daughters in law, Billy and Lisa Farr, Jr., Blake and Tammy Farr, all of Gainesville; grandsons and their wives, Trey and Melissa Farr, Lawrenceville, B.J. And Shay Farr, Gainesville; His "Sweetheart" great granddaughter, Paisley Grace Farr and soon to be great grandson, Deacon Gower Farr; half brothers, Robert and Kim Crumley and Frankie Crumley; and a cousin raised in the home, Diane Buffington.
