Allen L. Kattmann

Obituary Date: Wednesday, May 21, 2014
Mr. Allen L. Kattmann, age 71, of Lilburn passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Embracing Hospice in Cumming, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

A native of Spartanburg, SC, Allen graduated from the University of Georgia with both his undergraduate and his Master's degrees. He went on to found his own company, American General Business Systems, in 1981. Allen was an avid golfer and a long-time member of Northwoods Country Club. He loved cars as well as being a huge Georgia Bulldawg fan. Allen was a former member of Pilgrimage Presbyterian Church and a current member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church in Stone Mountain.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Carran Kattmann; a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Mike Schmeelk of Cumming; a son, Hal Kattmann of Lilburn; a granddaughter, Michaeline Schmeelk of Cumming; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ted and Kathy Kattmann of Kilmarnock, VA, Tom and Julie Kattmann of Cumming; his beloved dog, Max and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Allen's life will be held Thursday, May 29, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Carmel Christian Church, 6015 Old Stone Mountain Rd, Stone Mountain, GA 30087 with Minister Art Stansberry and Minister Judy Moore-Padgett officiating. The family will greet friends following the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Christian Church.
