Vincent (Vinny) Lawrence Ferrara

Mr. Vincent "Vinny" Lawrence Ferrara, age 92, of Flowery Branch passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, surrounded by his family.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Hopewell Baptist Church. Rev. Gary Wilson will officiate. Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends following the service at the Fellowship Hall.

Mr. Ferrara was born March 9, 1922 to the late Lorenzo & Anna Ferrara in Princeton, New Jersey. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, a retired Major with the United States Air Force as a Pilot, and was an avid golfer. Mr. Ferrara was also preceded in death by his brothers, Peter, Frank, Anthony, Marino, Joseph, Lawrence and Armond Ferrara; sisters, Lucy Brearly and Gloria San Lorenzo; and daughter-in-law, Mary Williams.

Survivors include: wife of 63 years, Ida Tamasi Ferrara; sons & daughters-in-law, David & Martha Ferrara of Cuernavaca, Mexico; daughter & son-in-law, Donna & David Foster of Flowery Branch; son, Michael Williams of Longview, Texas; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
