Bud Greenlee, age 84 of Oakwood, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Gold City Nursing Home in Dahlonega following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 2:00pm at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1234 Riverside Drive Gainesville, Ga with internment to follow in the Baldwin Cemetery in Baldwin, GA. Bishop Bob Weaver will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 19, 2014 from 4-8 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 2030 Memorial Park Road Gainesville, GA.
Mr. Greenlee was born on October 28, 1929 in Newton, Iowa to the late Don Coleman Morris Greenlee and Novalene Marcele Morris Greenlee. He served as Corporal with the U.S. Army and spent 2 years in the Korean War Conflict. He also was with the DeKalb County Police Department for 13 years. He retired with Northeast Georgia Medical Center from the Security Department after 18 years of service. He was preceded in death by both parents, 2 brother-in-laws, 2 sister-in-laws, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, and 1 great niece.
Mr. Greenlee is survived by his wife of 60 years, Norene Greenlee of Oakwood; son and daughter-in-law, Don and Terry Greenlee of Oakwood; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Bruce Harbin of Columbia, South Carolina; granddaughter, Holly Wright; grandson, Michael Wright; grandsons, Garrett and Ryan Harbin; granddaughter, Victoria Harbin.
