J. L. Chapman

J. L. Chapman, 74, of Dawsonville passed away Friday May 9, 2014 at Gold City Nursing Center following a period of declining health.

Born March 18, 1940 in Dawson County to the late John Henry and Dessie Zona Chapman, he lived his entire life in the Dawson, Hall, Forsyth and Lumpkin County area. Mr. Chapmen was formerly employed by the Gainesville City School System and the Forsyth County Senior Center. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Jessie Beck, and brothers, Eugene Chapmen, Eston Chapmen, Grady Chapman and R. H. Chapman.

Surviving are his brother, Roger Chapman, Dahlonega; and a number of other relatives.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday May 14, 2014 at 2 o'clock at the Word of Life Pentecostal Deliverance Center, Souls Chapel, Cemetery. Rev. James Wilbanks will officiate.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 9 at the funeral home.
