Wilbur Earnest Marable

Wilbur Earnest Marable, age 83, of Buford, GA and formerly of Smyrna, GA passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Cochran Marable. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Thomas Larsen, Buford, GA; grandchildren, Michelle Cook, Atlanta, GA, Michael Poss, Kennesaw, GA, Annemarie Larsen, California and Suzanne Wardell, Oklahoma; and great grandchildren, Lauren Wardell and Alexis Wardell.

Mr. Marable was born October 12, 1930 in Atlanta, GA. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from Atlantic Steel Co. after thirty-eight years of service as a construction electrician. He was a member of the Buford American Legion Post 127, a member of the Masonic Lodge, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Smyrna in Smyrna, GA. He enjoyed woodworking and trips to Florida. He loved dogs but most of all, he loved his family. He was an honest and kind man and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home. Graveside service and interment will be at 1:30 p.m. at Georgia Memorial Park in Marietta, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Eagle Ranch, P.O. Box 7200, Chestnut Mountain, GA 30502 in memory of Wilbur Earnest Marable.
