Don Waters

Don Waters, age 69, of Dahlonega, GA passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Chestatee Regional Hospital.

Don was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County. He retired from Mohawk Industries where he was a department manager. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who also loved his animals, along with spending time at the beach.

Don was the son of the late Roy Frasure and Myral Waters Frasure, and was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law Frank Smith and niece, Stephanie Holtzclaw Helton.

He is survived by his wife, Tara Hamilton Waters; daughter, Donna Mauro, Delmar, DE; daughter and son in-law, Andrea and John Barber, Gainesville, GA; son and daughter in-law, Tommy and Tonya Cantrell, Dahlonega GA; brother, David Holtzclaw, Dahlonega, GA; sisters and brother in-law, Charlotte Smith, Lilburn, GA, Wanda and Leon Gilleland, Lilburn, GA; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral service for Don is scheduled for 3 PM Friday, May 9, 2014 at Banister Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.

Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega, GA on Thursday, May 8, 2014 from 4 PM to 9 PM and Friday, May 9, 2014 from 9 AM until time of service.
