Carol Ann Paton

Obituary Date: Monday, May 5, 2014

Carol Ann Paton (Lortie) was born and raised in Bloomington Illinois. She was the daughter of James and Ann Lortie, who now reside in Cumming, Georgia.

Carol attended Central Catholic High School, a private Catholic school in Bloomington, Illinois.

Carol is survived by her husband Jeff, children Connor, Logan and Claire, her sister Karen Levison (Danny), brother Mike Lortie (Kathleen) and parents Jim and Ann Lortie. Several nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.

Carol was an amazing young woman, full of energy and completely devoted to her children, husband and family. She relished every opportunity to enjoy time with her family. Carol made friends wherever she went and was consistently known as the sweetest personality among all who had the pleasure to know her.

She came to Atlanta in the mid 1980's to follow her sister Karen soon after her brother Mike, and parents joined her in Atlanta. She began working at C&S bank and eventually moved careers to help open the Atlanta office of EMC Corporation.

Carol was married to her husband Jeff on March 24, 1990. Carol immediately became a devoted wife and mother. She dedicated her life to taking care of her family and raising three beautiful children.

Not only focused on her own children, Carol was "everyone's mother". She looked out for any and every child in her life. Family and neighbors alike talk as if she helped raise their children. She was a true angel.

Carol was diagnosed with cancer in 2010. She courageously battled this disease with incredible will, effort and grace. She always maintained a positive outlook and comforted others during their concern for her. She was simply amazing.

Carol was an angel that was called to heaven early but we know she will continue taking care of her family and others from heaven. She will be truly missed. Heaven is blessed to have her soul.

The celebration of Carol's life will be held at North Point Church at 4300 North Point Parkway in Alpharetta at 11:00AM on Thursday, May 8, 2014.
