Margie Day

Margie Day, 70, of Dawsonville passed away Friday May 2, 2014 at her residence following a period of declining health.

Born October 5, 1943 to the late Clyde and Azzie Garner, she was a lifelong resident of Forsyth County. Mrs. Day was a homemaker who was very devoted to her family and was a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Eloise Garrett and Clydean Day.

Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Junior Day, Dawsonville; children, Steven Day, Billy and Nancy Day, Nita and John Manterfield, Angela Day, all of Dawsonville; sisters and brothers in law, Patricia and Elvin McConnell, Dawsonville, Gail and Wayne Smith, Dawsonville; brother, Eugene Garner, Dawsonville; grandchildren, David Day, Jacob Herrington, Leslie Manterfield, Mackenzie Day; great grandson, Steven Herrington; and a number of other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Monday May 5, 2014 at 1 o'clock at Sweetwater Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Flowers, Rev. Harold Evans and Rev. Rodney Pilcher will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends after 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
