Edward C. Strickland

Edward C. Strickland, age 60 of Gainesville, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at V A Hospital in Decatur following a sudden illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor Richard Haynes and Pastor Eddie Bailey will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 2 - 4 pm at the funeral home.


Mr. Strickland was born July 3, 1953 in Gainesville, Georgia to Chester Strickland and Elizabeth Smith Strickland. He was retired from the U.S. Marines and was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Smith Strickland.


Mr. Strickland is survived by his wife, Gloria J. Strickland of Gainesville, step-daughter, Shannon Earls of Gainesville, father, Chester Strickland of Flowery Branch, sister, Eunice Valentine of New Jersey and his brothers, Tommy Strickland of Gainesville and Danny Strickland of New Jersey.
