Bernice Frady Irvin

Bernice Frady Irvin, age 85, of Mt. Airy, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the home.

Mrs. Irvin was born on February 8, 1929, in Claymont, Delaware to the late Zebulon Vance and Myrtle Garrett Frady. She was also preceded in death by her brother W. L. Frady. Mrs. Irvin was a member of Antioch Baptist Church where she was a member of the Taskmasters Sunday School Class. She was active in the Women's Missionary Union. Mrs. Irvin was a devoted wife and beloved mother. She was a homemaker and known for the Christmas Holidays with her caramel cake. She was known as "Maw Maw" to 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. The children and grandchildren will cherish the memories of summers spent with her around the family swimming pool and the family Easter egg hunts.

Survivors include her loving husband of 66 years, Tommy Irvin of the home; daughters and sons in law, Londa and Buddy Sprinkle, Mt. Airy, Georgia, Lisa and Bill Collier, Mt. Airy, Georgia; sons and daughters in law, James and Susan Irvin, Toccoa, Georgia, Johnny and Ann Irvin, Tallulah Falls, Georgia, David and Elaine Irvin, Clarkesville, Georgia; grandchildren, Tara Pridgen, Chris Irvin, Rob Irvin, Elizabeth Irvin Barnwell, Melanie Silvestri, Clint Irvin, Stephanie Irvin, Brian Irvin, Meridee Wilson, Jarad Wilson, Nathan Wilson, Ryan Collier, April LaHayne, Nolan Collier; great grandchildren, Ruthanna, Ford, Henry, Harrison, Colin, Asher, and Keira. She was the last of her immediate family.

The family wishes to thank the wonderful caregivers, Kellie Barrs, Trina Vandiver, Elaine Barrett, Lisa Crumley and Hospice of Northeast Georgia for their love and care of mom.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., on Friday, May 2, 2014, at Antioch Baptist Church, Mt. Airy, Georgia with Rev. David Harbin officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2014.
