Rex S. Tatum

Rex S. Tatum, age 83, of Gainesville, Georgia, formally of Clarkesville Georgia, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Mr. Tatum was born on August 4, 1930, in Clarkesville, Georgia to the late Floyd B. and Della Icey Stewart Tatum. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen Ragsdale Tatum; brother, John Tatum; sister, Ella Tatum. Mr. Tatum was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. Mr. Tatum was a retired electrician with Scovill Manufacturing.

Survivors include his daughters and sons in law, Janet and Kenneth Ledford, Clarkesville, Georgia, Sandra and Dalva Jones, Gainesville, Georgia; sister and brother in law, Esther and Jake Jacobs, Alma, Georgia; brother and sister in law, George and Mary Lou Tatum, Alma, Georgia; grandchildren, Jaron Loggins, Nathan and Iris Loggins, Derrick Jones, Corey and Anneliese Jones.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m., on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia with Rev. Doug Saxton officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by The United States Air Force.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2014.
